Directions to the school
Newbattle High School is located midway between Easthouses and Mayfield as part of Newbattle Community Campus. If you are using a satellite navigation system, our postcode is EH22 4SX but please be aware that because our address is very new, not all navigation systems will recognise this postcode yet.

Location of Newbattle Community Campus
Newbattle High School is situated within the Newbattle Community Campus off the B6482 road ("Newbattle Way").
For parents/carers dropping off a child to school, a layby has been installed on the B6482 so that children can be dropped off without cars having to drive into the main campus.
Walking or Cycling to Newbattle
There are four separate paths that can be used to enter the Newbattle Community Campus depending on which direction you are coming from. The map on the right shows the footpaths and cycle paths (as well as public transport stops) in the vicinity of Newbattle Community Campus. Click on the map to see an enlarged version.
If cycling to school, three lockable bike sheds are provided in the grounds. For school pupils the bike shed is in the playground behind the music department. For visitors to the campus the bike shed is in front of the building next to the main car park. All bikes are placed at owners risk.

Travelling to Newbattle by bus
The main bus stop for the Newbattle Community Campus is bus stop 64342475 which is located on the roundabout outside the school as shown on the map above. The stop Services in both directions There is a very short walk (1-2 minutes) via a dedicated path directly from the bus stop to the main entrance of the campus.
- Lothian Buses service 33 runs directly between the main campus bus stop and links the campus to Gorebridge or Baberton, including Newtongrange, Dalkeith, Sheriffhall Park and Ride, the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh City Centre and Haymarket. - Lothian Buses services 3 and N3 also run close to the campus, although not directly to the campus bus stop (there is a 5-10 minute walk).
The map above has a key indicating which bus stops are served by each service. Service 3 links Mayfield with Dalkeith,
Edinburgh City Centre, Haymarket and Clovenstone. Service N3 (night bus) provides an hourly overnight link to Gorebridge, Newtongrange, Edinburgh City Centre and Haymarket.

Travelling to Newbattle by train
The closest railway station to the school is at Newtongrange. The public transport map above shows the location of Newtongrange railway station.
It will take approximately 25 minutes to walk and 7 minutes to cycle from the railway station to the Newbattle Community Campus. The closest bus stop serving the railway station is located on Main Street, within a 3 minute walk from the station. This can be accessed via Murderdean Road, walking South-East and turning left. Bus service 33 provides a direct link to and from the Newbattle Community Campus. Other bus services serving the station are 29, 339, N3, X29 and X95.
